Cleanroom Flow Racks

ISO-rated aluminum T-slot flow racks built with particle-generating-free materials, non-outgassing anodized finishes, and wipe-down compatible lane surfaces — engineered for ISO Class 5 through 8 cleanroom environments in semiconductor, electronics, and pharmaceutical facilities.

Why Choose Cleanroom Flow Racks

Particle-Free Anodized Finish

Hard anodized and sealed aluminum profiles produce no particle shedding under normal use. The sealed surface resists chemical cleaning agents and prevents oxide particle release during wipe-down and equipment operation cycles.

Non-Outgassing Materials

Frame profiles, fasteners, lane hardware, and accessories are selected for low outgassing to protect sensitive processes. No painted components, PVC, or materials with high VOC emission are used in cleanroom rack builds.

Wipe-Down Compatible Surfaces

All surfaces are smooth, flush, and free of horizontal ledges that trap particulate. Lane rails, frame joints, and fasteners are designed for complete IPA and cleanroom-compatible detergent wipe-down without disassembly.

Stainless Steel Fasteners

All fasteners are 316 stainless steel to prevent corrosion particle generation in high-humidity cleanrooms and to withstand repeated exposure to isopropyl alcohol and hydrogen peroxide cleaning agents.

Grounded ESD Option

Cleanroom racks handling ESD-sensitive components are supplied with ESD-dissipative lane surfaces and a grounding lug connection to the facility ground plane, combining cleanroom material compliance with electrostatic discharge protection.

ISO 14644 Compatible

Rack design documentation includes material certifications, outgassing test reports, and particle generation assessments suitable for inclusion in ISO 14644 cleanroom qualification and validation records.

Frequently Asked Questions

What ISO cleanroom class are Modular Solutions cleanroom racks compatible with?

Modular Solutions cleanroom flow racks are compatible with ISO Class 5 through ISO Class 8 environments as defined by ISO 14644-1. The material and finish selection, fastener specification, and surface geometry are designed to meet the cleanliness requirements of these classes. For ISO Class 4 or below, consult our engineering team for a custom material review.

Can cleanroom racks be cleaned with hydrogen peroxide vapor (HPV) or vaporized hydrogen peroxide (VHP)?

Yes. Anodized aluminum profiles and 316 stainless steel fasteners are compatible with hydrogen peroxide vapor and vaporized hydrogen peroxide cleaning cycles. Lane hardware and accessories are specified to withstand repeated HPV/VHP exposure. Any ESD-dissipative components are specified from HPV-compatible materials.

Are cleanroom racks supplied with material certifications?

Yes. Material certifications for aluminum alloy, anodizing specification, fastener grade and material, and lane hardware are supplied with every cleanroom rack order for inclusion in facility qualification records.

Can cleanroom racks include kanban card holders?

Yes. Cleanroom-compatible kanban card holders in anodized aluminum or cleanroom-grade polycarbonate are available as T-slot accessories. Standard plastic card holders are not used in cleanroom builds.

Can existing standard flow racks be upgraded to cleanroom specification?

In most cases, no. Cleanroom specification requires non-painted frame profiles, stainless steel fasteners, and specific lane hardware from the point of manufacture. Retrofitting a standard painted rack would require complete disassembly and rebuild. It is more cost-effective to order a cleanroom-specified rack from new.
