Custom flow racks are built in any structural material including mild steel, galvanized steel, anodized aluminum, 304 or 316L stainless steel, and powder-coated alloy. Any surface finish — electropolished, powder-coated, zinc plated, hot-dip galvanized, or bare — is available for any frame configuration.
Standard roller and skate-wheel lane geometry accommodates containers from 75mm to 600mm wide and 150mm to 900mm deep. Custom lane configurations including guide rail spacing, specialized rollers, skid pads, and friction-controlled descent solutions are engineered for containers outside standard dimensions or with unusual base geometries.
Custom rack frames can be designed with interfaces to conveyor belts, AGV lanes, robotic pick stations, and automated storage systems. Infeed and outfeed conveyor connections, robot reach envelope optimization, and vision system target mounts are all within scope for custom rack design.
Every custom flow system includes a 2D manufacturing drawing set and a 3D STEP model delivered with the shipment. The drawing set includes all custom dimensions, material specifications, assembly notes, and installation sequence. Drawings are formatted for inclusion in facility equipment records.
Custom racks serving multiple environments — such as a rack that begins in a warehouse at ambient temperature and is moved into a cold storage area — can be designed with materials, coatings, and lane hardware rated for all environments in the use cycle rather than optimized for only one.

The minimum information needed to begin a design review is: (1) container dimensions (footprint and height), (2) container weight when full, (3) number of lanes and number of containers per lane, (4) available floor footprint or wall space, and (5) any regulatory, environmental, or interface requirements. Customer drawings, photos of existing racks, or a facility layout are all useful but not required to begin. The more information provided, the faster the proposal can be returned.
For standard custom designs — non-standard dimensions or materials, no automation interface — the design review and proposal cycle is typically five business days from requirements receipt. CAD approval takes one to three days. Production lead time after approval is typically four to eight weeks depending on material and finish selection. Total time from first contact to delivery is typically six to ten weeks for most custom configurations.
Yes. Custom rack designs regularly include AGV lane interfaces (fork entry guides, alignment rails, positioning stops), conveyor infeed and outfeed connections, and robot reach envelope optimization. The engineering team reviews the AGV or conveyor manufacturer specifications and designs the rack interface to the specific system requirements. STEP file exchange with the automation supplier is standard for interface coordination.

The drawing set covers all custom dimensions, material specifications, surface finish requirements, assembly sequence, and installation notes. Drawings are revision-controlled and available in electronic format for inclusion in facility equipment records or OEM documentation packages.
Yes. Custom outdoor racks use hot-dip galvanized or 316L stainless steel frames with UV-rated lane hardware and weather-resistant accessories. Multi-environment racks — for example a rack that moves between an ambient warehouse and a cold storage area — are designed with materials and hardware rated for the most demanding environment in the use cycle. No components are selected that would fail or corrode in any of the environments the rack will encounter during its service life.
