CNC Machine Enclosures
Every CNC machining center generates chips, coolant mist, and tool hazards that require a purpose-built enclosure. Our modular aluminum CNC machine enclosures are engineered to your machine's exact footprint — accommodating chip conveyors, bar feeders, coolant plumbing, and service access — while meeting OSHA 1910.212 machine guarding requirements with interlocked doors and impact-rated polycarbonate observation windows.
CNC Enclosure Design Features
Built around your machine model, not a catalog dimension. Every CNC enclosure is engineered with the specific clearances, access points, and panel configurations your equipment and process require.
Machine-Specific Footprint Engineering
Each enclosure is designed to the exact dimensions of your CNC model — with precise clearances for spindle travel, door swing, chip conveyor exit, and coolant plumbing connections.
Impact-Rated Polycarbonate Windows
10 mm polycarbonate panels provide unobstructed sight lines into the machining envelope while deflecting high-energy chips, broken tooling, and coolant from the operator zone.
Safety-Interlocked Access Doors
Door interlock provisions are built into the enclosure structure, enabling integration with your machine's safety circuit to halt spindle rotation when the guard is opened.
Coolant Mist Containment
Tight panel-to-frame joints with aluminum base channel and floor sealing strips prevent coolant mist escape and contain fluid within the enclosure perimeter.
Bar Feed & Chip Conveyor Clearance
Structural cutouts and sealed pass-through provisions for bar feeders, chip conveyor exits, and coolant lines are engineered into the panel layout at the design stage.
Full Maintenance Access Panels
Hinged and removable panels on all service sides allow spindle, tool magazine, and coolant system maintenance without dismantling the enclosure structure.
CNC Machine Enclosure Applications
Wherever CNC machining generates containment hazards that must be addressed for operator safety and regulatory compliance.
- CNC Vertical Machining Centers (VMC) — Full perimeter enclosures with interlocked front doors, polycarbonate observation windows, and chip/coolant containment for vertical 3- and 4-axis machining operations.
- CNC Horizontal Machining Centers (HMC) — Enclosures accommodating pallet changer systems, full pallet travel envelope, and chip conveyor exit provisions for horizontal machining cell installations.
- CNC Turning Centers & Lathes — Chip and coolant mist containment enclosures with bar feed clearance provisions and full front-access panels for part setup and tool changes.
- 5-Axis & Mill-Turn Centers — Complex-geometry enclosures matching articulating spindle motion envelopes on multi-axis machining centers with custom clearance profiles.
- CNC Grinding Machines — Enclosures engineered for abrasive grinding operations with fine particle containment and coolant mist control for surface, cylindrical, and centerless grinders.
- Swiss-Type CNC Turning — Compact enclosures for sliding-headstock Swiss turning centers with bar feed and parts catcher provisions in a space-efficient footprint.
Standard Options & Specifications
CNC machine enclosures are made to order around your specific equipment model and facility requirements:
- Frame Profile: 45 mm and 90 mm extruded aluminum T-slot framing; structural ratings for chip impact and lateral load.
- Panel Options: 10 mm polycarbonate (clear), solid aluminum sheet, perforated aluminum; mixed panels per application.
- Door Types: Single swing, double swing, sliding; safety interlock hardware provisions on all access points.
- Base Channel: Aluminum base with floor sealing strip and coolant drip edge for fluid containment.
- Pass-Throughs: Sealed cutouts for bar feeders, chip conveyors, coolant lines, and electrical conduit.
- Height: Custom to machine model; standard ranges 72–96 in with ceiling panels available.
- Lead Time: 3–6 weeks from approved machine model drawings.
