Yes. Lane width spacers are set at the time of manufacture to the specified bin footprint per lane. A single workstation can have lanes configured for different bin widths in different tiers — for example, 4-inch lanes in the upper tier for small parts and 8-inch lanes in the lower tier for larger components.

How many bin positions can an integrated flow rack workstation hold?

A 60-inch wide, two-tier flow rack workstation with 6-inch bin lanes holds up to 20 bin positions within the operator’s 30-inch horizontal reach. Adding a third tier increases capacity to 30 positions. Wider stations or narrower bin lanes increase capacity further. How does aisle-side replenishment work without disrupting the operator?

The flow rack lanes are accessible from the aisle side of the workstation — the material handler loads bins from behind without crossing into the assembly operator’s work zone. The gravity pitch ensures the newly loaded bins flow forward to the operator position as the empty bin is removed. The operator never stops working to receive replenishment.

Can bins be locked or secured in the lanes?

Yes. Lane end stops prevent bins from flowing beyond the operator position. Bin locking clips prevent accidental bin removal. Lane dividers can also be configured with a brake mechanism that requires the operator to press a release to advance the next bin — used in applications where bin sequence must be controlled.

Are integrated flow rack workstations available in stainless for food or pharma?

Yes. Food-grade and pharmaceutical-grade integrated flow rack workstations are available with stainless steel extrusion, stainless roller axles, polyurethane rollers, and stainless fasteners throughout — meeting USDA and FDA cleanable surface requirements. These are quoted individually based on the specified configuration.
