The cart is loaded from the rear at the warehouse supermarket station. Containers are placed into the back of each lane and gravity-feed to the front. At the line-side station, the operator pulls from the front of each lane. The empty cart is collected on the same or next milk-run cycle and returned to the warehouse for reloading.
Lean transport flow carts with polyurethane wheels roll smoothly on sealed concrete, epoxy-coated, or tile floors. For older rough concrete, cast-iron casters with a larger diameter (150mm or 200mm) reduce rolling resistance and absorb surface irregularities.
