Why Aluminum Canopies

Aluminum extrusion canopies deliver durable, low-profile overhead coverage that outperforms painted steel and fiberglass canopies on every long-term maintenance measure.

Wall-Mounted or Freestanding

Canopies can attach directly to the building facade via wall-mounted header brackets or stand independently on their own posts — accommodating site constraints where wall attachment is not practical.

Custom Projection & Width

Projection depth and width are specified to your opening, dock lane, or walkway dimensions — no off-the-shelf sizing constraints that force compromise on coverage area or clearance.

Roof Infill Options

Solid aluminum panel, polycarbonate (clear or opal), or standing-seam aluminum roof — selected based on weather protection level, light transmission preference, and architectural appearance requirements.

Zero Maintenance

6000-series aluminum extrusion never rusts, corrodes, or requires repainting — a canopy installed today will look and perform identically in ten years without any seasonal maintenance cycles.

Clean Fascia Appearance

Aluminum extrusion fascia and gutter channels create a finished, professional appearance at building entrances and visitor-facing areas — significantly cleaner than exposed welded steel canopy frames.

Integrated Gutters & Drainage

Integrated gutter channels and downspout provisions route water to existing site drainage — preventing water accumulation on the canopy surface and controlling where runoff discharges at grade.

Canopy Applications

Aluminum canopies protect people, equipment, and building openings from weather at every point where operations or circulation intersect with the outdoors.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a wall-mounted and freestanding canopy?

A wall-mounted canopy attaches to the building facade — one edge anchors to the wall and the canopy projects outward, supported by the wall attachment and optional front posts. A freestanding canopy has posts on all sides and does not rely on a building wall for support, making it suitable for mid-lot locations and areas away from buildings.

Can a canopy be installed over an existing loading dock door?

Yes. Dock canopies are one of our most common applications. The aluminum frame is engineered around the dock door header height and required projection, with post placement coordinated to avoid conflict with dock leveler equipment, vehicles, and dock bumpers. Wall attachment hardware is specified to the building wall construction.

What roof materials are available?

Canopy roof infill options include solid aluminum panel, standing-seam aluminum roof, and polycarbonate sheeting (clear or opal). Polycarbonate is popular for entrance canopies where natural light transmission is desired. Solid aluminum panel provides maximum weather protection and a clean architectural appearance at dock and service locations.

Can the canopy be extended or reconfigured after installation?

Yes — the bolted aluminum extrusion frame can have bays added or removed and the projection extended without demolishing the original structure. Roof panels, fascia, and gutter sections are all field-replaceable, making future modifications straightforward.
