Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about mobile workstation caster options, power provisions, and ESD configurations.
What types of mobile workstations and carts does Modular Solutions offer?
Modular Solutions offers rolling work benches, tool cart workstations, mobile assembly tables, adjustable height mobile tables, inspection carts, mobile packaging stations, service technician carts, and multi-shelf mobile stations. Every configuration is custom-engineered to your process, payload, and facility requirements.
What caster options are available for mobile workstations?
Caster options include 3-inch to 6-inch diameter swivel casters in polyurethane, nylon, and rubber tread materials. Standard configurations use two rear locking brakes and two non-locking front swivel casters. All four locking configurations and directional (non-swivel) rear casters for tugger train use are also available. Caster load ratings range from 300 lb to 1200 lb total cart.
Can mobile workstations include power outlets and integrated lighting?
Yes. Frame-mounted power strips fed by a retractable cord reel or overhead power drop provide AC outlets at the mobile station. USB-C and USB-A charging outlets are also available. LED task lighting mounts on articulating arms or under-shelf strips. For carts that move between positions without a fixed power source, battery-powered LED lighting and portable battery inverter provisions eliminate the need for a power connection.
Are modular aluminum mobile workstations ESD-safe?
Yes. ESD-safe configurations use static-dissipative laminate surfaces, common-point grounding provisions at the frame, and caster assemblies with conductive wheel treads that maintain ESD ground continuity during repositioning. The complete mobile station meets ANSI/ESD S20.20 workstation grounding requirements. Common-point ground studs mount at the operator wrist strap position on the frame upright.
What is the lead time for custom mobile workstations and carts?
Standard configurations ship in 3 to 5 weeks from approved drawings. Configurations with custom surface materials, height-adjustment mechanisms, ESD provisions, or complex tool storage layouts typically require 4 to 6 weeks. Lead times are confirmed at quoting after design review.
